laura mar is my independent jewelry line, crafting small-batch & one-of-a-kind pieces based in southern california. i embrace the beauty of imperfection with each handmade piece. drawing from japanese wabi-sabi and kintsugi, i use recycled metals to highlight history and repair, celebrating the unique artistry that machine-made jewelry can’t match.

i find inspiration everywhere! my daisy collection captures that groovy 60s and 70s flair, while my byzantine-inspired pieces come from obsessing over game of thrones costumes. or sometimes i just picture what a fairy at a rave would wear. 

i’ve been a lifelong daydreamer with a habit of packing up and starting fresh. i’ve called japan, the uk, mexico, chicago, new york, austin and now southern california home, each place leaving behind a little magic in my work. tokyo was where i spent my the most time (aged 11 to 18), and it still sneaks into everything i create.

in 2016 i launched judy&madeleine, an accessories line specializing in crystal headpieces. thanks to the brand’s success, i got to head back to school & dive into metalsmithing. i created this space to share my metalsmithing adventures & art experiments with you!
